Summer 2010
Fun for kids at Ulster Elks
It seems Jordanstown is the place to be this summer for local children who want to play and learn.
The university has been running a series of successful Ulster Elks after school camps and children are pictured participating in a range of soccer and tennis. The camps offer a range of activities and sports from gymnastics and multi-skills to tennis and basketball.
The community summer camps in the University have been successfully running for local primary school age children for the past 4 years during summer, halloween and Easter. The children are well looked after by qualified coaches and can learn and play in a fun, safe and sociable environment.
Lisa Rickett, sports development assistant said, “The camps are a great way for primary school children to enjoy their summer. They get to meet new friends, learn new skills and are coached to a very high level. We have noticed a constant increase in the amount of children attending the camps and in particular the gymnastics and trampolining camp have been very popular and we’re providing some new options such as our new Volleyball camp.”
