Learning disability charity Mencap invites water-lovers everywhere to take the plunge and swim a mile for Mencap. Budding swimmers from across the country will take on the challenge in their local pool swimming a total of 64 lengths of a 25 metre pool.
Everyone is welcome to swim the Mencap Mile and the challenge can be taken in teams of three for those who want to join forces with friends or family. Take on the challenge at any time in the year that works for you.
Laura McManus, Mencap’s Head of fundraising in Northern Ireland said: “Our inaugural Mencap Swim is sure to be a great day out for the whole family to enjoy whether your swimming or cheering others on, so people should get practising their strokes and dig out their swimming caps. It will be an experience to remember!”
Registration is £25 per person or £60 for a team of three, and the suggested sponsorship target is £50 or £150 for a team of three.
