A regional charity working with children and young people up to the age of 25 who live in residential and foster care and with those involved with leaving and after care services. Five projects are available, these are:-Advocacy Service that helps children and young people find out about their rights and enables them to make choices about the services they are entitled to receive and to be fully involved in the decisions that affect their lives. Mentoring Project provides children and young people aged 12 – 18 years in care with a trained volunteer mentor to assist them to achieve a range of goals related to school work, personal development, self esteem and isolation. Participation Project that facilitates and supports the growth and development of care experienced young people aged up to 25 by encouraging their personal and social development through group and individual work. Policy Project which provides opportunities for care experienced young people to inform and shape legislation, policy and practice which impacts on their lives. This is done by consulting with young people and ensuring that their views are fed back to decision makers and service providers. Research Project that uses Participatory Action Research to ensure that care experienced young people are fully involved in any research we undertake. They advise and guide all aspects of the work e.g. designing the tools and carrying out the research.
