Five innovative Story Cube sets to give away…

Rory’s Story Cubes are a remarkably simple and effective means for inspiring creative thinking and problem solving in all of us

The cubes are the brainchild of Belfast entrepreneur - Rory
O’ Connor.

You simply toss all the dice, examine each of the nine face-up images and let them guide your imagination through a story that begins with “Once upon a time…”

Awarded the Dr. Toys 10 Best Games award, the game contains nine cubes with iconic images on them which are designed to spark the imagination – nine cubes with 54 images means there are 10 million combinations, so the possibilities for storytelling are almost limitless.

The cubes are ideal for second language development, to help children develop their literary skills and to encourage speaking and listening. They are ideal for teachers, trainers, educational professionals and parents. They engage learners of all ages and abilities in storytelling, creative writing, literacy, language development and problem-solving.

The secret is not to think too deeply. Simply ‘gulp’ in the images and start talking. The story will reveal itself through the cubes and in so doing, will unleash creativity, freedom of expression and frequently, an insight into how to solve a seemingly intractable personal or business problem.

The cubes themselves are moulded for durability and feel really good to hold. The take-anywhere box is durable and popular with teachers and other professionals as a portable tool.

Such has been the success of Rory’s Story Cubes that an expansion set called Actions is now available. This consists of 54 unique icons or picto-verbs that depict the most important verbs to be learned in second language development. The expansion set can be played on its own or mixed in with the original set for a more action-packed experience.

And look out too for the new Rory’s Story Cubes iPhone application, which lets you create new stories while on the move.

ni4kids has five sets of this innovative learning aid to give away. To be in with a chance of winning one, simply answer this question;

How many picture combinations are possible with a standard set of Rory’s Story Cubes?
